I was really disappointed that I couldn’t identify the sitter. There were multiple Minnie Jeffreys that fit. Maybe someone will stumble across this post and recognize her as their great great grandmother!
No, I didn’t think of that. Minnie definitely could have been short for Wilhelmina. Once I found two women that could have been the sitter, one was a Minnie with the maiden name Jeffrey and the other was a Minnie with the married name Jeffrey, I threw up my hands in defeat. haha!

She looks so young, but is dressed more mature. Makes it difficult to guess her age. Did you determine a date range for the photo?

Based on the photographer, either James or David Hover (brothers), Minnie sat for this portrait sometime 1882-1888.
