Although I was unable to identify this carte de visite (CDV) I wanted to share it in case a relative might someday happen upon it. Written on the reverse “Susie died July 6th 1867.” The photographer was Thompson Gallery in Albany, New York.
Known as The Sun Picture Tax, the government placed a luxury tax on photographs from August 1864 to August 1866 to help with the financial demands of the Civil War. Based on the tax stamp affixed to this CDV we know that this photo was created during this time frame.

So odd for her to be pictured almost as a disembodied head, floating in the ether. With that information, it seems she should be findable.
